Well after 212,000 miles the steering shaft is now become the weaklink in my steering with a barely tolerable amount of slop. It needs replaceing and after finding out that ford wants $250 for the lower u-joint and doesnt even make the upper anymore plus god knows what for the slip joint I contacted borgeson ( Are they any better then flamming river?). They said they could make me the whole shaft with a 2 year warentee for $275 plus shipping. But here follows my question:
I need to know the dimentions for the steering shaft. Overall length, spline count on the steering box, and what the upper end type is.
I dont really feel like ripping the shaft out twice so anybody that has done this or has any advise would be greatly appreciated.
