My '92 EB w/185k on it has gotten to be a real bear to keep in a straight line on the road. Waiting for a cop to pull me over for weaving, even though i'm stone sober. My front suspension is tight, wheels aligned, etc. There is excess play in the steering. I tried adjusting the steering box. It made a slight improvement, but not enough to correct it completely. Think the steering box needs to be replaced?

My Mom has that problem in her 94 E150 van. we had the steering box replaced twice already in the 82,000 miles that van has been on the road. the first time it was loose was at 33,000 miles, then again at 62,000. Now we are at 82,000 and now it is making noise and is a bit loose so we may need another. if you are unable to adjust it, then I would say the next step is replacement. from our experiance ford's steeringbox arn't very good....
