Disconnecting "o/d off" light

Anyone know how to shut off the "OD off" light? The trans is junk, and I want to trade the whole think in back to Ford. I tried disconnecting the batt, but the light comes back on in a few minutes. Is there a fuse I can pull? Where is the wire for the lite?

Just saw that commercial with Bill Ford. "People come up to me and say my truck has 100,000 on it and I love it" He does not say that they have had to sink $5000 in repairs to get it there. What a nitemare. This is the scariest Halloween ever.

Sorry to hear that. Have you tried to change the TPS?

Mine did the flashing thing, and once I changed the TPS it went away.

yep

search my recent posts. you actually replied to one. changing the TPS did squat. The problem is the tranny and the company that built it.

Built Ford tuff my a$$.

I feel for ya, man!

J. Kennedy,
I feel the same way as you do. They say beware of vehicles built on Mondays, well, my X must have been built on the Monday after New Years Eve (ie. a bunch of hung-over assemblers).

My X only has 48K miles on it and the list of things that have gone wrong or just aren't right is astonishing: broken rear tranny mount (took SIX trips to dealer before they found the problem!), broken seat back adjustment handle, non-existent front shocks, interior trim pieces falling off, interior squeaks and rattles galore, ventilation always blows out of defrost vents, leaking front pinion seal, cracked EGR tube ($258 to replace, thank you EPA), fog lights that are absolutely USELESS, broken factory CD changer, bad tailgate lift cylinder, universal joint or pinion clunking, squeaking serpentine belt tensioner (not belt slipping, I've checked), leaking rear door seal, rear door lock rod fell off (only took TWO trips to dealer to get it fixed, under warranty fortunately), driveshaft vibration over 70 mph (not tires, happens w/ two different sets), paint peeling off top of rear hatch, and I'm sure there are more that I can't think of right now.

Anyway, sorry for ranting in your post but wanted to let you know that others can sympathize with your problems.

Ford, quality is job 1.1 beta

Take out the bulb.
