I've narrowed it down to the 5R55 or 4R44.
My truck is a 97, 4 door, 2wd, 4.0, Eddie Bauer...
I'm having some BAD shifting problems, and I JUST got this thing, so I'd like to fix it if I could. I've been reading on some type of "band" adjustement... if that applies to me, it'd be really nice. I drive the thing really softly, and I just need it to last me. So, any help in locating the info on what my trans is, and how to fix it would be awesome.
I think it's the 2-3 shift, it lags forever in second and then "bangs" into gear, or I can force the shift by babying it and letting off before the shift. This morning, it kinda started grinding and ticking... I hope it's not too far gone...
I'll be pulling the trans pan and replacing the filter and oil soon, unless there's some parts or adjustments I need to do while I'm in there.
