Even though I had no codes,I changed the EGR VALVE and the pinging problem is gone.Thanks for your help guys.

I did that as well. The pinging will be back in less than a year.

I haven't found a magic solution either. I just Sea Foam periodically (once per year) and always run 87 octane.
