Still trying to get locks working!!

I posted some time ago that on my 96 XLT I could unluck all doors with the remote and door buttons, however I can only lock them from the rear hatch button. I have yet to figure it out!! I've looked a the relay in the back, fiddled with the wires at the dr door (maybe not enough). Also maybe related but not sure the auto locks that engage when put in drive ( I did not even know it had this until I read some posts) it has never worked since I had the truck. Anyway has anyone gotten any further to the seemingly common lock issue as to the problem? Thanks all.

hey 89LSC4ME, I have the same issue - I've just learned to deal with it

I've had this problem for a few years now but I the last time this vehicle was at the dealership, they said that I would need a new computer or whatever.

NO you don't need a new computer. Its a wiring issue.... look for the PK/LG continuity thru your door post. It eventually goes to the rear cargo panel where the unlock relay is and meets up with ... you guessed it.... the PK/LG from your unlock button in the cargo area.

Im not sure what PK/LG are but I will search the wires again.

PK/LG stands for Pink/Light Green wire.... I believe.
