Hi, I drive a beautiful black '99 Explorer Sport and I've been looking to replace those ugly yellowish stock fogs to match the Piaa xenon bulbs (hid lookalikes) that I've already installed in the headlamp sockets. The owner's manual lists the fog bulbs as a size "899" and unfortunately, I've been unable to locate any replacement bulbs for that size. Does anyone know if 899 corresponds to say H-3 or something like that? If not, I'd appreciate it if someone knows where to buy replacement bulbs for the fogs and could forward me that information.
Thanks again,
Marc Everett

I am not 100% certain, but someone mentioned that the PIAA 50's are a direct replacement for the fogs.

I know it is not a 'bulb' but, I am sure it will out perform the stock ones.

A 893 light will should fit. They sell them on e-bay. Ordered mine Still waiting for them. Hopefully this week they will come in.

Should work or will work? I'd rather not spend the money if tehy don't and/or will melt the plastic or wiring harness.

They are the same bulb. The only differance is where the wirining plugs in. One plugs in straight in to the bulb and the other plug in on a 90 degree angle.

Thats not true. 899's and 893's are both STRAIGHT in connectors. And 893's WILL definitely work. I use them on my 98 right now.

How do you like the replacement bulb(s)? What improvement over the stock ones have you noticed?

You are correct. That was my fault. The 894 and 896 have the 90 degree bend. My bad

No problem man, thats why we are all here, to learn from each other what works and what doesnt.

They are brighter than the stock 899's and match better with my PIAA 9007 superwhites. The downside is that they burn out too quickly. I replace them once every other month.

You could do what I did... I went to walmart spent 15 bucks on stock sized and shaped fog lamps that use H-3's and replaced them with Polarg "superwhite" bulbs , they match my headlights perfect and are 100% brighter than stock( now they actually work)......
