Hi,
This question/comment is different than the other so I though I would start a separate thread for it.
I just installed a MAC CAI on my '02 Sport truck and I was curious about something. I am assuming the actual gains received from the MAC come from the fact that the Air filter is open and not enclosed in a box. The stock intake tube was approximately the same size as the MAC intake tube, therefore I believe that the gains are coming more from the air filter having access to more air.
I am not trying to nock the MAC CAI, just trying to understand the physics behind the performance improvements.
Kevin
