Stock running board mounting?????????

I have a 98 AWD V8 that didn't come w/ boards. The wife is preg and needs a little help so I bought a set of used factory boards. I have the L brackets but don't see what they bolt to under the truck. Am I missing a mounting plate or do I just drill into the metal under the door. I was hoping this was just a bolt on deal.

There are eight rubber bungs on each side of the vehicle
as yours is a few years old they will be covered with muck and the original under seal.
Once you have found these its just a case of prising them out and bolting your brackets on.
(I hope they came with the bolts).
I would also recommend goggles.

HHmmm, my L brackets have 4 holes each and looks like 3 on each were used. I saw the rubber grommets under ther but there spacing made them look like rust prevention holes. Well check again in the am.

Whopps!!!
Should have said 12 holes on each side, the bottom two are used and one of the top ones.
Are all of your brackets the same shape, if not the odd two fit to the rear.

Alright I got the molding off mine and hung the board, all of the hardware given to me was bolts, what held the bottom bolts that go thru the rocker panel bottom lip, speed nuts or reg nuts?
Looks like I will just be getting nuts, but curious. Thanks

Mine came with a u-shaped clip, with a nut welded to one side, which slid over the lip.
