The stock head unit on my son's '97 XLT seems to be acting up. Every now and then it will drop the front left channel for several seconds, then it will come back on. Since we swapped out the stock speakers for Pioneer 3-ways, I would suspect a bad connection, but he says sometimes the others drop out and the front left is the only one working. Is this a known problem?
Do you think we can swap his with the one from my '99 XLS? His has the CD player and cassette player in the face with the remote CD changer. Mine has the CD player only. If they will switch, we could begin to isolate the problem. Any ideas? Thanks.
