Stock Sub

Has anyone ever removed the stock subwoofer from a 2007 Explorer? If so what is the depth of this woofer? I believe it is an 8".

I don't know what the depth is but if your referring to the diameter, then yes it is 8 inches.

Yes I am inquiring about the depth. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I noticed that you have a rockford 8". Did you mount it in the stock location or do you have a box for it?

Its on the stock location but it was deeper than the stock sub. The enclosure had to be modified a little to fit it.

Were the modifications easy to do with basic tools or are we talking about cutting the enclosure out and fiber glassing a new one?

I'm not exactly sure how it was done because the audio shop did it. they definitely did not do any glass work. they used the stock enclosure but I'm not sure how they sealed it because the sub stuck out about 1/2 inch from the enclosure.

I have an 2007 explorer without the sub, I was wondering where ford mounts it, and if anybody knows if the wiring is already there for it or not.

Also, does anyone know of a good place to get a stock subwoofer enclosure? I'll use my own sub and amp, but I need the enclosure. I've searched the web with no luck so far. Not even on Ebay.
