Quick question guys. I know the the 4L OHV V-6 puts out around 160 hp, but I don't know what the kind of torque it puts out. If someone could bring me up to speed I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for brining me up to speed.

While we are under that subject...

Does anybody know the stock HP, and Torque for a '97 Explorer 5.0L AWD? No Mods.

211 HP @ 4600 RPM, 274 ft/lbs @ 3200 RPM.

towing capacity?

i have a '94 XLT 4x4 with a 3.73 limited slip. i was wondering what my tow rating is because i am in the market for a boat. i saw somewhere on the internet that it was over 4,000, but does anyone know the exact rating?

Does anyone know the stock 1/4 mile time for a '97 5.0L AWD? And does any know the stock 0-60 time?

Thank you

Towing Capacity

The owners manual, for your gear ratios (I'm assuming the automatic transmission), states you can pull up to 5100 lb.

I have a 93 which I bought new. Believe maximum torque for 1993 models was reached at 2200 RPM, while 91 and 92 models reached maximum torque at
2400 RPM. This made all the early 91-94 models good for towing and off road, despite their relatively low HP. Can't remember what the amount of torque was. I was interested in a low torque range for pulling, which attracted me to the Explorer initially. MikeTEC
