2011 explorer limited
Hi. I am new to the forum and have a 2011 explorer limited. Recently, I have had a few instances where a strange beeping noise comes on for no apparent reason. My initial thought was that it was the collision avoidance system but the red lights do not come on on the dash and the times when the beeping has occured, there were not any cars around. Has anyone experieced this before?

hmmm... just off hand, check in the car settings in the left instrument cluster. It's possible that you have collison avoidance set to high sensitivity and the red-lights turned off (not sure if turning off the red lights is an option or not).

I have mine set to high sensitivity and there are certain areas where it goes off (mostly because of tree brances near the side of the road in front of the car right before a sharp corner.) I like it set to high because the false alarms let me know its still working. When I had it set to normal, I would get uncomfortably close to a car ahead of me w/out it going off.

Other thoughts - Send a vehicle health report to make sure nothing needs servicing - (it isn't the seatbelt chime is it?).
