Since about 3 days ago, I have been getting a persistent clicking sound on the drivers side of my '91 EB 2WD. It is in rhythm with the engine, so if the RPM's are higher, the clicking is faster. I can kind of feel it with my foot if I put it down on the metal near the pedals. The sound is fairly loud and begins as soon as I start the car, while idling, and while driving. Very rarely it will stop. I can't figure out what this is.
Also, my transmission has started to slip lately. I know I shouldn't, but as a poor 17 year old I am constantly driving on empty. When my gas is low, the tranny slips all the time (or something happens that resembles the tranny slipping). Then when I fill it back up, it's fine again. Last week the transmission started slipping every now and then even when there is plenty of gas. My friend checked the ATF and it was fine. I'm worried that I may have to get a new transmission or something. What else could it be?
Now whenever I make a turn to the left and move the wheel back to the right, the oil pressure gauge hits rock bottom. Then it jumps back up to the normal. It's very strange. It happens when I move the steering wheel around a lot. I don't understand how this can tie in with something with the power-steering. I'm hoping one of you may have had a similar problem.
Lastly, my power steering had been leaking and I took it to a garage where they claimed to have fixed the leak. I had to replace the PSF weekly before that visit, and I didn't replace it again for a month. I drove for about 200 miles and slowed to pull into a gas station on Thanksgiving and the power steering just screamed bloody murder as I turned in. Very strange, considering it wasn't doing it before I left town a couple of hours earlier. Any ideas?
Thanks for any input at all you can give me.
