I am working on a buddies 98 4.0 he was traveling and somewhere and along the way one of his friends put on the wrong alternator on and exploded the battery..
So he changed the battery and put the correct alternator on and made it further..Well he made it here and shut the truck off and now it is completely dead nothing happens when when you turn the key.. there is no power anywhere.
The batteries read 12v and then if you move to the cables it reads 2.3v the voltage reading is the same at the fuse block under the hood.
All the fuses are good
No shorts on the positive or in between the pos and neg.
I took the starter off and had it bench tested.. Everything passed ok.
If anybody has any thoughts they are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
