anyone?

Tell the kids to stop throwing rocks or they'll have to pay for any dents.

i'll do so!

Loose shield or inspection plate? sometimes they only rattle in N becauce rpms are higher . Just some guesses Good luck

Automatic or 5 speed tranny?

****
i mean park. it is auto

If it is a SOHC engine, did you have the timing chain/cam tensioner warranty work done? The more info you give about year, engine tranny, miles, any prior repairs or mods done would also help us narrow down your problem. Also, please watch your language. This is a family site!

Mine make the same noise...only mine does it when in drive...holding the brake. I checked for loose heat sheilds and couldn't find anything.

sorry, i'll watch my language. it has about 55k miles on it, 97 XLT, it has had a new steering fluid pump put in and new spark plugs ans some engine sensor. its a 4L shoc. thats all i can name really. it has nad no major work done. just the usual filter/oil change.
