Christmas in October! A generous benefactor just swapped out my motorcraft rotors for slotted brembos and new pads. When the mechanic was doing work, noticed the E-Brake was fried. They replaced the setup and wire. Now the Brembos and new pads are working wonders, but there is now an associated sound coming from the right rear wheel. I had the mechanic look at everything, re-installed the e-brake. The sound comes at random, occuring at various speeds , especiallywhen no brake pressure is being applied. It isn't neccesarily a metal on metal sound, but more like a hollow spring sound. The sound is getting better with a couple of miles since the Tech looked at it, however it still drives me crazy. I am almost positive it is not the new brake set-up, has anyone ever experience this problem with an new emergency brake. Any other ideas? Its been to the shop 3 times, and of course fails to make the sound when he drives it.
