stuck in ruts, frame on ground

A decent comalong should be able to handle the task.

This thread is useless without pictures. :)

Ideas for self-extraction? I'm out. Anyone with a good truck, halfway decent traction, room to get 10 feet worth of momentum, and a GOOD HIGH QUALITY tow strap should be able to yank it right out.

Just a thought as I did this recently to separate a camper from its frame. Slide some 2x10s (preferable doubled up) or larger under the vehicle from the drivers side to the passenger side. You could then use 2 jacks to raise one end of the vehicle completely in the air like a std garage lift. You may need to dig some holes for the jacks, but once you have the tires in the air you can fill in the ruts and repeat for the other end.

Where is Charlie........... THE SAGA CONTINUES

Rookie shooter and derocha have great ideas

use a 12 foot long 4x4 to wedge the truck in the air, then put carpet under the tires...

ive used that method, works great in the snow/mud

the towing comp. said they will be here at 11

i am covered up $100 :thumbdwn:

and here are the pics,

on a side note i think i lost the limited slip in the rear, and i have bald tires :D

Looks like "suburban wheeling" too me! You weren't kidding when you said it was close behind your house. I have been stuck in a situation that looks similar to that, but a whole lot deeper. IMO, the easiest way out is backwards via strap jerk or winch. Good luck.

sorry for the delay in the this set but the they sent a guy to look at it and said well ummm how did you do that and left

Hey Charlie, hope you didn't wake your next door neighbors up on that Ultimate Outdoor Adventure. I think the idea of comealongs or levers would get you out of there. That tree does not look that far away to strap to. Easy for me to say. Good Luck and keep that great since of Humor that u have.

Wrote this before I saw next pics. Seems to be getting out judging from the back tires. That mud should start drying out, go get sombody, they should be able to get better traction during the day and pull you out of there.

what the palm tree? a palm tree is the cardboard of trees, and it has no roots something that size might have a root ball the size of a big dodge ball, that is not saying i will not, but there is a good south pine 50 ish feet a way.

worst case what do i need to know about towing with chain? i have only used straps and ropes,

I never recommend chain. Straps all the way for me.... the bigger the better.

Also, don't let anyone use the trailer hitch ball. If it doesn't snap the ball off, it'll likely tweak your bumper anyways.

Get that chain/strap around something as low as possable this might make it easier to get over that hump in front of tire. (approche angle ha ha )to the front of your 93 not around any linkage. Use bolts or hooks d rings whatever. Put somthing over the chain to deaden recoil if it comes loose. Start pulling, make sure you put something behind tire so it does not roll back into th black hole if you have to let off

That's not that bad of a situation, now that I've seen the photos. Stucks on the trail a lot worse than this one happen all the time and get fixed in fifteen to thirty minutes the help of others that are with you.

A comealong will 90%+ probably do the trick and/or a HiLift used as a winch will do it for sure.... strap to that tree 25 yds in front and to the left of you (to the right in the photo) and pull it out; you'll only need to go two feet, then you're out. Follow all the suggestions in this thread, use straps but put blankets over them in between your Ex and the tree to deaden the lethal zing should the towpoint explode loose while you're doing it.

Speaking of tow points.... what should he use from the front? One of the TTB's underneath? The grille guard doesn't look sturdy enough to pull at an angle, so I wouldn't suggest that.... ???

-Joe

ya, that is also a handy peace of info.
now do you see why i did not want to put up pics. its sad really, and after two hours of dugging it does not look bad

this is the first and last time i will ever need help to get out in the ex.

okay where is the tractor that made the ruts...???...??? if it close have him pick you front or rear with the lifts (if equipeted) if not use this combo... tree close? fille the ruts in front of your truck like a ramp hooke your buddy's winch back up to it (what moved you 6" ) then get a good come a long (not a cheap cable one ) I have a chain drive one and I've slide mobile home with it .. hooke the come a long to you truck so when the winch cn't pull you can help it along... or bite the bullet get a tow truck mine will lift the front end up in the air (3+ plus feet) and it a deisel ford but it will pull a house...
