So I was having what felt like a dead miss on my 2013 3.5l na explorer. It happened under light acceleration. My biggest issue finding the problem is I have no cel. Anyone else experience this. I also ran full forscan tests, data logs, and even had someone with a professional scanner do a power balance test. After all this and wasting some $ changing out parts that didn't need to be replace I found the solution.
It was the trans fluid. I flushed 15qts of fluid through the transmission until it was mostly red and after taking it on a test drive the problem went away. So if anyone else is banging their head against the wall with this issue give it a try.
