stupid question for people with factory painted gray bumpers and fender flares

i got a dumb question. my truck has the factory painted gray bumpers and fender flares and running boards, and i needed to get a front license plate bracket from ford, because when i first got the truck i ripped the stock one off and chucked it, and this summer im moving to a state that requires a front license plate (which really pisses me off, but thats another story.) so, no big deal, $11. my question is, do you guys with gray bumpers have a gray license plate bracket out front or is it black? the guy at ford said they have only have black ones, so thats what i got, and i really dont care now that i have it, but i just wanna know if this guy was blowing smoke up my ass.

yo if you want a gray one im gonna take my factory one off soon. i will sell you mine. My only question is with the holes the factory ones leaves when you take it off.... what do you patch it up with
