Stupid Question - How Do I Find Out Which Tranny I Have?

I have a '97 XLT automatic. I've seen 3 different model number trannys mentioned on this forum for this Explorer. How do I figure out which one I have? I can't seem to find any markings on the lower portion of the tranny that match up with any of the model numbers I have seen listed. Tx.

Your 97XLT has a 5R55E tranny. I have the same thing.
