does anybody now if its possible to get a custom enclosure for a 96 explorer for 2 kicker l5 sqaures that would save me some space in my truck. i no they make them for 10 inch circles but is there any way to make or find a custom enclosure for these subs that would save the space and still give the same sound???? :exp:

Make the box yourself. I did it for mine and I was more than pleased with the sound quality and results. Believe me, its worth the time as a generic box will never sound half as good as one that is built to specifications.

those are nice boxes but i have 12s and i was looking for something that mounted into the side paneling in the back for the L5's but i guess if worst comes to worst i would use those

you mean like the stock sub? I don't think that there's enough space in there to fit a 12in...
there was a thread here about a guy who built his own, maybe you can look for it and see if the measurements work out OK for your subs

i dunno im thinking about just fabricating them and hanging the box on the roof inside somehow so there outta the way

The thing that is important to know when dealing with subwoofer boxes is that, you never want to compromise space. Once you do that you loose sound quality. First it depends on what type of box you want wether it be a ported or a sealed box. A ported Box is going to give you a deeper and harder sound but will require a larger box than the sealed box. as far a mounting the sub in the side panel, I would say dont do it unless you will be running about an 8 inch sub that dosnt require a box with a big volume, and hanging them, i have never herd of that, one thing i would be concerned about is the weight. Really you best bet is making a long slim box that is mounted in the rear and up against your back seat. you will have to make it your self, but it wont take up too much room and it will sound great. good luck!

box specs

anybody no were i can find specs to build a sealed box for my kicker 12inch L5's for a box that would go all the way across the back of my truck?
or just the box specs i need for the best sound outta these subs so i can custumize it from there? (2 subs)
