Sub Placement

I am getting another subwoofer to make a total of 2. My question is, what is the best direction to put the subs? Facing up or facing towards the back?

whatever your preference. you won't tell to much of a difference either way because subs are like regular speakers. speakers you can aim aawy from you and tell a difference, sub's bass travels in all directions the same. you might tell a teensy bit of different, but in the end, especially in an explorer, whatever your preference is is going to work.

actually placement can have a great deal of importance. It all depends on the loading environment and the enclosure type and design.

Sometimes you can gain quite a bit of performance from different positions.
