As promised, here's some more info:
The removal of the factory sub is a simple 10 minute procedure. If you pull the grill (just a little tab/lever behind the drivers' seat) and look down, you'll see 2x 7mm (9/32) bolts and a single 10mm. Remove the 7mm's and put them aside.
Now slowly start putting your fingers behind the plastic panel that covers the entire back wall and gently pull towards you, starting at the bottom. Also, open the L.A.T.C.H system holes and pull from in there. You'll feel some large metal spring clips start releasing. That's it, rear panel is off.
Now, remember that 10mm bolt you saw? Undo it, and the other 2 you see at the top of the enclosure. The amplifier is connected to the side and can remain there. Once the enclosure is loose from the vehicle, slide it slightly towards the passenger side and you'll be able to release the wiring harness going into the top of the amp. It's free now.
The woofer itself is held in by 8x 7mm screws easily visible on the front. On the rear is an 8mm bolt that holds into the woofer from behind. Once removed, if the woofer doesn't drop right out, a slight pop under the frame with a flat-blade screwdriver and it's all over.
Woofer measurements:
Depth ~3.7"
mounting diameter: ~7.25"
bolt circle of 8.125"
The enclosure is sealed with a volume of approximately .42 cubic feet. Additional depth can easily be gained with a simple spacer ring. It looks like an inch, maybe more (I forgot to measure the space between the grill on the woofer, and the access cover on the car). At that rate, if a larger space can be gained, many 10's will fit! I will be doing my homework for that, and will report back.
