I'm thinking of replacing my current sub, I need something that works well in a 2ft cubic box, 15", my amp pushes 460W RMS @4 ohms, so either 4ohms, or dual 2 ohms

First are you putting this in the stock sub area of the car. If not I would recommend Fosgate Punch 2, I am running to punch 12's with a 1200w amp and it sounds perfect. If you are using the stock box your going to need more insulation in the compartment or it will sound like crap. The stock sub area is not sealed well enough to handle anything above a stock sub.

Nope Using a custom built box, already has a 15" in it, but its not the greatest

2 cu ft is pushing it a bit on the small side...if you want good sound you are going to have to find a subwoofer that works well in small sealed enclosures.

You have a budget??

Also Joker unless you have atleast two P3's you aren't pushing 1200 watts. More like 300 watts probably.

2 cubes is too small. Id get a 12" sub like a DD1512 and make an adapter to fit a 12" sub in that box. Or preferrably have a proper box made to get good results.

The Dayton RS HO would work well in that enclosure.

Who said I was Pushing 1200 watts thats just the Amp The subs are rated at 600rms The amp puts out about 800rms meaning they are getting about 400 a piece I have done the homework on these subs for quite a while. Theres really no way of telling unless you have a meter, no amp or sub is actually able to handle what the box says, its a maximum that it will handle before blowing.

is this box sealed? or ported? should be an ok volume for a sealed box. i'd rebuild a lil bigger if you were going for a ported box.

unless i'm misunderstanding...this is completely invalid. the ratings on the box is what a sub/amp CAN do/handle. RMS is what you want to go by. PEAK power is what it can handle at brief periods (but you should never consider this when researching/purchasing brands...totally a marketing trick) if an amp does 1000 watts @ 1 ohm, it should be able to handle 1000 watts all day long. granted the sub will most likely not see that 1 ohm load with impedance rise (or box rise). tho cheaper brands do not fit in this category. any real amp will be able to do it's rated power and then some. and any real sub will be able to take the power it's given. i'm putting double the power on my subs. and my amps are wired at .5 ohms. with box rise (i havent checked for sure) they may be seeing anywhere from 1-2.5 ohms, if not higher

Got a Kenwood amp pushes 460W RMS @ 4ohms, 2.00 cubic foot box, don't wanna rebuild. I was just wanting some suggestions on a new sub that wasn't more than a couple hundred, but gotta save money for a concert I'm planning on attending, so won't be buying a new sub until well after september(thats when the concert is)

is the box sealed or ported? i'm gonna assume sealed?
