sub sounds a bit fuzzy

I have a JL Audio 8w0 8" sub inside the custom fitted q-logic box that goes in the back of the explorer. it had always sounded a bit fuzzy. not really the sound that comes out of the sub, but sounds more like something inside the car doing it. i have a small amount of dynamat behind the box, and a lot of poly-fil inside the box. any suggestions on how i could get rid of the noise? it's pretty irritating.

p.s. the sub is not blown, i just exchanged a blown one for this one.

It sounds to me like your problem is just white noise usually from the motor. what you need to fix it if im right, is to go to your local stereo shop and get a ground loop isolator. That should do it, you might want to check with them to, cause i cant hear the noise. But it is actually a pretty common problem. Another cause might be that your amp and head unit have a low signalto noise ratio (which means they have crappy sound quality). what head unit and amp do you have? let me know the head unit/amp, or check with a good stereo shop.
