Sub woofer problems

I have a 98EB and my sub woofer sounds like *&^%%^@. Of course my lights are out on my radio and playing with the bass makes it wrost. It possible the woofer is blown and should I disconnect or is there something I missing?

do you know what brand the stock sub is in the EB?

it's either JBL or MACH

It's an 8" Mach sub. Take your old sub out and find out how many ohms your sub is rated and get a new and better one. On mine, my 6 1/2" sub is rated at 8ohms. But double check.
