- 1991 Explorer EB
Should have searched before I posted this. But anyway:
We have a 91 EB we bought way back in Aug 1990. It has the factory 7-speaker JBL sound system including the sub woofer in the back. The speakers have seen better days and the factory subwoofer is shot.
I was looking at picking up some new speakers and a head unit. But finding a good replacement subwoofer has been challenging. About the only sub on the market for Explorers 91-94 is the MTX (?) unit; Amped this comes in at $500, no amp $300.
Given the age and mileage of our explorer, I was looking to keep any investment in stereo/speakers fairly low. Maybe spend $120 for a JVC built in HD-receiver head unit and decent set of speakers for front and rear doors and nothing overboard for the sub.
What do you guys use for aftermarket subs to fit in the stock sub housing on your 91-94 Explorers? Thanks!
