Could this replace the JBL subwoofer in my 1993 Explorer?

I've always had in mind to keep her as stock as i can, with minor upgrades/updates, and one of the big things was the audio system. The owner before me did this complex wiring (from the little knowledge i have of car audio[VERY little]) of all the speakers seperately to a no name amp under the bench seat, with two TV speakers that appeared to be ripped out an old big screen set up to it, (Creative engineering at it's finest).
So my idea would be to figure out how to rewire everything back to stock, including wiring back to the Stock JBL subwoofer. I'm wondering if i should even venture into this, or pay someone else to do it. I do all mechanical repairs on her, but electrical i've never touch other than fixing my power windows motors.

Great news, thanks.

What's the reason for selling, if i might ask, Upgrading?

The stock wiring for the speakers might still be there, people don't usually rip out the factory wiring when adding aftermarket wiring, though sometimes they do clip the harnesses off at the stereo and amp ends.

Even if the wiring is gone, it's not that bad, you can just run speaker wires from whereever you decide to put the amp (or from the head unit if you power it that way), and then of course just run new power and signal wires to the amp for the sub.

Electical wiring for a basic setup is pretty easy, don't go overboard or get fancy and you shouldn't have much trouble.

As for the sub, you can see it's pretty much a drop-in replacement for the factory 6.5", JL almost made this just for the Explorer application, but there are a few other 6.5" factory subs too.

You can also cut up the factory enclosure and fit a shallow 8", but the 6.5" is great if you just want some tight low end bump without modifying much.

So i figure i'll get the subwoofer above to replace the, what i think is dead, factory sub. And i was figuring i'd get two sets of these for the doors.

Now, could anyone recommend the proper JBL amp to compliment everything? Would these even work? I don't know the difference between mono and full range, and pretty much any car audio jazz.

So i'm back.

What i ended up doing was replacing my back speakers with the:

GTO8628 set

And for the front two i replaced them with the component version:

GTO8606c set

Currently i'm still using the seperate factory JBL amps for both the speakers and the 6.5 sub, the sub i replaced with some cheapo brand as a temp.

Tomorrow i'm getting my new Amp and Sub in the mail, i'm planning to cut up my factory sub enclosure to fit an 8' inside. But now i'm sort of worried whether the one i bought will fit, or leave enough room for air.

This is the Amp i got, which i'm also worried about not having sufficient wattage,

And this is the 8' sub that i hope to fit in the enclosure,

The Depth reads 4 3/8s on the box, (got this one in the mail tonight).

Does anyone have an idea whether this stuff will be alright before i go and open the boxes tomorrow? I'd really appreciate anyones thoughts, i'll be wondering all night.
