I trying to diagnose overheating problems with my sport trac. I switched out the clutch fan...I want to rule it out completely.. Is there a radiator relay somewhere to test out? Thanks

what would a radiator relay be?
a mechanical clutch fan would not use an electronic relay
this question is like "where is the remote control for the toggle wall light switch "

okay thanks. I just want to make sure :)

could just be air in the system,

I had an odd overheat situation recently after some cooling system repairs.
water pump shaft had sheared, and the fan went into the radiator....some destruction

replaced radiator with high flow (2" channel), new water pump, and a used clutch fan.

truck never overheated for a while after the repair, then it got slightly cold about 5degF, and the temp started to go up past normal, blew cold air, then went back to normal and hot air. This only happened once in the morning every time.
Checked coolant (low), topped up coolant, experienced same overheating again, the overflow tank never drains back into engine.

So I ran the truck with the rad cap off until the thermostat opened, rad looked full and overflowed until the thermostat opened, then the coolant level went down a lot, filled again with coolant and the overheating hasn't shown up yet.
