Hey guys, thanks for your time. I live in Vancouver, BC..in the "northwest." With the wet climate up here, I am unsure on what to do regarding my rims for the fall/winter season. I have heard some people take them off, because of "pitting." Is there any way to prevent pitting, or does it just make sense to throw the stock wheels and tires back on? Thanks!

People I know with chrome wheels haven't had too much trouble with them in winter, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea:p:

I would say, if you have another set you can throw on for the winter, do that. Otherwise, you could use a sealant on them, and keep them clean. Not sure if that would totally protect them or not, but would help.

If the tires are bad on the stock wheels, you may not want to use them, since in winter especially you need good tires. Either that, or replace the tires if you can afford to do so.

I would say it depends on what they put on your roads. Is it sand or salt or something else. They use salt here in Michigan. It seams most people take of the aftermarket chrome rims for the winter. But on the flip side how many people with stock chrome rims ever that them off? No one. So I guess the choice is yours.

pretty much if u have the rims or u have money to give away use the spare rims for the winter....if u only have one pair of rims just keep them clean and run them
