Suggestions for newbie?

I just aquired a 1994 Sport. It has a fairly new face system, but all the speakers are stock, and I'd like to replace them, as well as add a subwoofer in the back storage net thing.

I'm new to car audio, so I'd appreciate any suggestions that anyone could give me. What size speakers would I need, and what is the best sub, etc. and where can I get a custom box for the back?

I'm a diehard Fosgate fan, so I would recommend a pair of 6x8 separates for your doors from them. If you want to go with a less expensive speaker than any 6x8 will fit your doors. As for a sub, I would check e-bay first. do a search for stealth sub on e-bay and google and you'll find what you want.

As far as 6x8s, Id look into Infinity, Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood etc. Anything name brand will probably be better than the stockers.

For a sub, it depends how loud you want to go. If you want to conserve space, and just add a bit of bass, you can go with 8 or 10 inch. If you are more serious about cranking some bass, I would go with a 12in.

It depends how much you want to spend, where you want to put the stuff, and how loud you want to go *boom*.
