In regards to a '97 2WD Explorer... What years have the same front clip and front frame section? I'm considering building a generic bolt on prerunner bar and am looking for a donor vehicle locally that I can use. I need to know what years will work though.

Also, is the front frame/body the same as the 4WD for those years? Basically could you interchange the stock bumpers?

95-01 Front bumpers are interchangable, 4wd and 2wd are the same.

Also forgot to mention that if you want to put a 99-01 bumper on a 95-98 you have to have the brackets and everything, not just the cover.

But the holes where they bolt to the frame are the same, correct?

Im pretty sure they are but Im not 100% positive.

it seems also like the colors of the trims changed very slightly from 99-01....i maybe wrong but a explorer at my work has grey trim and hers is different than mine, or so it seems
