Ok, here's the situation....On Christmas, I got and installed my Superchip.....Since the second I put it in, I really didn't seem to notice all that much of a difference....I tried it at full throttle and I noticed a little bit of a gain (I think, this is all by a seat of the pants test).....I just thought the gain with my other mods would be great enough to definitely tell the difference...I have taken it out and reinstalled it twice now to see if that would awaken some horses that were sleepin from the chip, but to no avail.....That being said, my truck has 133k on it.....

Basically, should I notice a LARGE seat of the pants difference between the car being chipped and not??

NOTE: The engine does not ping or have any problems (except the occasional stall every 1-2 months) mechanically and as far as I can tell is in perfect working condition....

Help me out here guys...

I didn't notice a HUGE difference when I put mine in but definately did notice a difference. Have you been using premium gas? Some used to report that with older vehicles if you didn't use premium gas it would cause the engine to knock. Well the new engines have knock sensors that when they sense a knock coming they retard the timing a bit to avoid the knock, this is good because it avoids knocking but totally takes away from the point of the chip as the chip advances the timing!

I have been using regular 93 octane pump gas (per the Superchip's instructions)....Should I try an octane booster or something like that and see what happens??

Why not give Superchip a call; they are great with support?

Good luck.....

naw 93 should be plenty, I run mine with 91 typically... I'd say like aldive said, give superchip or whoever you bought it through a call... its possible it was a bad burn.

also, are you sur eyou cleaned the contacts ont he computer real good? I hear thats a common problem...

Was this chip made for your truck ( they make by code )? Or did you get it from someone else?

I bought it through smartyparts and I did get it by code (FIG2, specifically).....

Know the number/e-mail of SmartyParts???

Thanks guys....

PS: Yes. I made absolutely POSITIVE that the terminals were cleaned very well....
