Superchip question

Alright, just saw the discount from smartyparts.com, and I would like to know if you have to use a higher octane fuel when you put one of those chips in?

I talked with Chris at Smartyparts about an hour ago. He said YES! you need to use premium. However, some people on this board have said they talked with Superchips people who told them not all Explorers will actually need the premium....some will, some won't. i guess it depends on the chip itself? Anyhow, I'd plan on using premium if i were you.

BTW, the shipping from Smartyparts is just $5 or so, so the total price for a Superchips there is just $180 if you mention you are a member of Ultimate Explorations (thanks Rick!!) I got a final "quote" from Carparts after a 33% discount of $164.00...but then they wanted to tack on $24 shipping...making it $187.

I placed my order with Smartyparts.
