I was going to sell the Superlift off my 04 ranger and just go with a bodylift when I get the sport trac. So my question is will the front part of the lift work on a 03 sport trac? I know I can reuse the AAl and just buy a different shackle or do a SOA in the rear.

Unless Ford has changed the front suspension on the Rangers in the last couple of years, they should be identical. It's only in the rear suspension that they differ.

Thanks-now I just need to get everything off the ranger and sell it.

The lifted knuckles for the rangers and Sport Tracs are different. You will either need to get Sport Trac knuckles from Superlift or change the Sport Trac brakes to the smaller Ranger setup.

Chad-what is different about them are you talking about the rotor size?

I dont know the exact differences in the knuckles, I just know that the kits are not the same. Rotor sizes are different (smaller rotors on the ranger). And I personally would not want to put smaller rotors on a Sport Trac as it is alot heavier than a Ranger.

I am sure superlift will give you the exact differences though. I am not saying it cannot be done, alot of people put ranger lift kits on explorers, you just have to make some changes, and brakes is the main thing.

ok thanks. I do know that my 04 ranger has 12" rotors which I believe is the same size as the sport trac.

Are the Rangers still running the smaller disc brakes?

Well, if the lift replaces the spindle, then all he would need to do is get smaller brake rotors. The calipers and mounting brackets are the same.

Yeah, I would think that by 2004 Ford would have increased the size of the rotors on the Ranger to match the other trucks.

Explorer History...... Year 2000

Ford increased the size of the rotors on the Explorer 2dr Sports and the new Explorer Sport Tracs.

The spindle was changed to accommodate the bigger rotors. The calipers and brackets holding the calipers are the same.

The Explorer 4door models kept the same small rotors in 2000 and 2001.

I wouldn't be surprised that Ford increased the size of the rotors on Rangers to match the Explorers sometime after year 2000.

I believe Rangers got bigger brakes in 2001. I know Superlift lists two different lift kits for 98+ Rangers depending on the year, but their site is crapping out on me right now so I can't see what year the split is.

Thank guys I am going to give them a call tomorrow and see if they can give me some more info.

maybe look up the kit for the trac and ranger and compare part numbers for the knuckles?
