I need some advice on my 1992 Explorer.....running about 200K on the clock,
I just replaced the exhaust and fuel pump. I'm debating whether I should keep it or sell it. The only thing that really troubles me about the truck is the suspension. As far as I know (I'm the third owner) it has all original bushings/springs/shocks, etc.

The ride on it is horrible. If I hit a bump on the road the car will be all over the place and wheels feel like they are moving sideways, back and forth.

Assuming I do all the work myself....what _essential_ parts would you guys suggest I replace in order to get the ride quality back up? www.performacesuspension.com has a bushing kit for about $130, maybe that and some new shocks? or should I focus on the hubs/wheel bearings?

I plan on taking many 600+ mile weekend round trips this winter and I need a reliable suspension.

Thanks for the advice.

Yes. You have it about right. Bearing maintenance shou be a regular annual thing. You should also check the ball joints, and spring mounting points.
