Suspension issues.....again.

ill post up some pics when i get home from work. Im not really sure about the SOA now, i like the prerunner rake. I just need to lift the rear about another 2 inches, nothing more. Im gonna call deaver and see if they can make me a custom 4 inch leafpack.

superlift makes a 4" leafs might be cheeper than deavers

Actually i really want the deavers, the plan is a full long travel suspension. The guy i bought the spindles from has a full camburg custom long travel on his 03 ranger edge. It was a beautiful setup, but he said it cost him over 8k for everything. A little much for me lol. The camburg 6.0 performance is my next upgrade. Ill look at the superlift ones and see how expensive the price is though, thanks chris.

well its all back together. Lifted it really nicely. Drove it to work today and i have a clunk on the right hand side so i have to see what it is when i get home. im also gonna need new shocks soon because the resi on the 5150's in hitting the 2 piece control arm in the passenger side. Soon as i figure out the clunk ill get it aligned and get some pics.

yea, what griffin said hahaha...include some of your broken fork mishap...how did you finally get her done??? what was the secret???

I used the arms that were already attached to the spindle. I couldnt get them off, so i just used them. ill get an air one when i need to get them off. ill get some pics when i get home. the fork was a cheap harbor freight one. its been used for years so i got my 5$ worth lol.

you might want to also post the part numbers and where you found the brake lines...i'm glad to see your up and running again...

figured out what the clunking is. the lower ball joints is literally moving up and down in the control arm. Im guessing the hole in the control arm has been stretched by having to take the joints out a few times. Does this sound possible??? If so then i guess i need to look for new lower control arms.

Is this the side the snap ring got messed up on? You might have stripped the splines out of the arm or the ball joint.

Snap ring is on and the bolt is tight. i can jack up the truck by the control arm and watch the ball joint move through the bore.

Edit, i think i get what your saying. When i first disassembled everything the lowers would not come off the spindle. all i did was hammer them out with the spindle still attached. Then i pressed the new ones back in. Damn i hope i didnt strip them out.

where should the ball joint sit on the lower control arm??? should the bottom of the ball joint be flush against the bottom of the arm or the top where the snap ring is sitting firmly against the top of the arm?

which picture shows the correct way that the ball joint should be sitting on the under side of the control arm?
