Hi, I am trying to lift my 1995 Ford Explorer Limited (4.0L OHV). Thus far, I have been told by every company that I meet that there is no such thing as a lift for an Explorer past 94. I have heard about a torsion bar 'twist' that adds an inch or two to the front end. I want at least four inches though. Six would be optimal, cause I want to stick 33 inch tires underneath it. Are there any ways to make a custom suspension lift? Is that a good idea?

Yeah you could try to get some one to fabricate you a lift , make sure it is a reputible company , like fabtech . If the truck was a 98 you could have used a 98 ranger lift kit , but your torsion bar adjusters are different. I say go with the twist and go get somebody to put on a body lift about three inch , Heck that should be plenty gjerret has 33x12.50 under his 99 eddie bauer ,with the twist and hockey pucks under his body , they rub a little bit at half turn at first , but I think he fixed that go to tires and wheeels forum and read all about it. Hope this helps you . Oh yeah before I send you on your way the place will have to rig a body lift, because one of those is not made for Explorers either.
