Obviosly there out there and I want one! I am looking for a 3 or 4 inch suspension lift for some light off roading. Would it be terribly expensive and tough if I go cheap? Where can I find one? Can I please have some suggestions?

Welcome to the site. You'll find a lot of info here on how to modify your X (and empty your wallet). Using the search function will generate a lot of info on suspension lifts.

A real cheap 2" suspension lift is to put shackles on the back and F-150 spring spacers in the front. Shackles cost about $45/set, and I'm not sure how much the spring spacers run, but it's not much.

First off, Welcome to the board! There are many lifts that you can get and it all depends on what you want. The lift also varies depending on what year explorer you have. some of the more common lifts are superlift, skyjacker, fabtech, rancho, ect.... Just in my opion if you go the cheap way you end up getting what you pay for. Most of us who have gone the cheap route ended up wishing would would have just spent the money for the top of the line. Once you get that bug it becomes a really fun hobbie/lifestyle. I would recomend a superlift. You may also want to check out some of your local 4x4 shops depending on if you want to install it or if you want it done for you. It can be a big job if you are not used to doing car work. Hope this helps
