Explorer 2007 Limited
Hello. I just purchased a 2007 Eplorer Limited V8 with 30k miles. I didn't really notice this until my test drive but my rear suspension or shocks seem to be extremely loose. When I go over a speed bump it feels like the back end gives out and almost sounds like the back end is hitting the speed bump as the car lowers.
Is this something common for an explorer or something that can be adjusted? I can't imagine that w/ only 30k would have bad shocks but you never know.
I am going to take this to the dealer to have them look at it but wanted to see if anyone on here has any thoughts or advice. I will be towing a boat with this so want to make sure everything is in tip top shape to tow.
Thanks in advice.

My explorer is very smooth over speed bumps and doesn't seem to move much at all so Im guessing there might be a bad shock or something.

Thanks for the response. Just got back from the shop and found out both back shocks are leaking causing the "ass to sway" and provide for a rough ride. Interesting that I didn't really notice it during my test drives.
They are being covered under warranty.

That's good of them to cover it. A lot of dealers would have claimed "normal wear item" (like tires, bulbs, etc.).

I purchased my 2006 Limited with 42k miles on it and also had a leaking rear strut. Could only find replacements at Napa as far as aftermarket went.

Glad to hear yours was covered under warranty! Not covered under my ESP either as they are shocks and the ESP only covers "struts" or something.
