I can't seem to find where my front passnger side squeek is comimg from. It is very annoying and embarasing!! It happens when the suspension goes up/down AND when the wheel is turned left or right. So far I lossened all four control arm bolts and sprayed PB Blaster and white greese in there then tightened them back up, but it didn't help any. It is so hard to tell exactly where the noise is coming from. Is this a common X problem what else should I check, mainly how should I check?????????

I have a 91 which s/b completely different than your setup, but mine makes the same noises.

Squeeks when going over speed bumps and turning.

I am thinking its got to be some bushings that are old and crusty.

Good luck, hopefully someone can answer both our problems.

well, I found where the noise is coming from, it's the lower ball joint. Lat week I replaced the upper ball joint. Seems like the passenger side of my X is a POS, I've replaced the wheel hub bearing ($$$), the upper ball joint and now the lower ball joint will need to be replaced.

Now, can I just replace the lower ball joint, or does it come as a complete control arm assembly?????

The lower ball joint is replaceable, you don't have to replace the whole control arm (like on the upper).

The lower ball joint is pressed in, so you will need a ball joint press.
