well my x was run hot by someone who i thought was a friend of mine but...

well the x was run hot i kno it was and now it wont run and has milky oil. i havent tore into it yet but im jus assuming/kno the heads are cracked, so..
should i fix the 4.o or swamp in a 302 mainly for the hell of it.. i dont have much of a budget either way so..


o and since new members cant post in the classifieds i am in need of some heads, a 5spd 4wd trans, and possiably a whole damn engine. i will be willing to wrk out some kind of trade on the trans deal as for anything else plz pm me if you have anything close in the ky area.. TIA!!

Overheating usually does do the heads in, if they weren't cracked already.

You might find a donor engine for less time and money than a rebuild, but rebuilding the origina motor has it's own perks, you can get new aftermarket heads, throw on other mods while you're at it, and have a better motor than before.

A 302 swap is good if you can find a motor and have the time, it's not a bolt-in at all though, read some of the swap threads to find out what's involved.

well i do have a couple of 302's laying in the barn so ive got one if i decide to go tht route..tho i like the 4.0 ohv so far and i have heard good things with mild mods..

so i got my x to the house and tore into it... got the upper intake off and most all wires and lines out of the way. hope to get into it further tomorrow.
i did notice alot of water/coolant coming from a rusted hole in my factory muffler.. and when you try and crank it it blows the raditor cap off like clyinder pressure is getting in the cooling system... dude said it never went in the red on the temp gauge but i dont kno if i believe tht... hoping its just a head gasket.
 












well i have been jus messing around all day and havent got much done... i kno where a couple of 4.0's are setting close to me... i may even be able to trade for one but i cannot account for thier condition....
i been thinking about if its worth it to pull the top end off my motor to jus go ahead and pull the whole thing anyways since it needs a oil pan gasket as well.. i jus really didnt have the time and/or cash to be fixing this vecheicle so soon..
