Swapping Doors - Can I swap locks?

We are buying another explorer and turning our SOHC Rattler (timing chain) into a parts vehicle and would like to swap doors. I am assuming this should be relatively easy - so I hope. Is it possible to switch the actual lock?

Any tips or DIYs, please send me the info!!!

You can just swap locks. But then you will have one key for the doors and one for the ignition.

What I would do is roll the window up, disconnect the battery, remove the door handle screws, the carefully pry rhe trim panel off. Then you can disconnect the clips that hold the lock in. Therre is a electrical connection too.

Swapping the doors is not bad but you will need help when you take them off. I almost dropped my drivers door when i replaced the hinge pins. I had to make a very small adjustment to the pin on the door jamb because the door lock dragged a bit.

Here is what I am planning - Pull entire door off and replacing - I am very familiar with most of the innards of the door and have replaced a bunch of handles, actuators, etc.

Questions: Is it easy to get the electrical connections swapped? How are the controls swapped?

Does it even make sense to try to swap the lock assemblies? I am really looking for a DIY. I also need to put the bad door back on the donor vehicle since I will need to drive that vehicle (most likely to a junker or for someone else to drive away).

No it is not hard to get the electrical connector apart. Once you unscrew to bolt just work the connector apart by pulling straight up on it. When you put the new door on just push the connecter on to get it started and then let the bolt do the rest of the work.
