Swapping the rear gate to a different model

I see many explorers out there that have the tag on the lift gate rather than on the bumper.

On my 95, you can mount it there.

Anybody ever swapped the tailgate to the othe model ?

I think that i read on here that they bolt up but the tails need to be switched too.

The 98+ hatch is what you are hunting. I have recently found a 2003 Sport hatch glass, the wiper is in the glass(no hatch parts(scratching)).

You will need a little rewiring for the license plate lights, that's all. Good luck,

The bumpers swap from year to year if you need that also.
