Swiss Cheese

I was browsing some old threads looking for some KKM intake info when I stumbled upon a few swiss cheese threads. I noticed some were saying what a messy job it was. I just wanted to post that back when I did mine I used a new 1 1/2" paddle bit (woodworking bit) and it took me no longer then 10 seconds to bore out 2 holes with almost no mess at all. Also I have a friend that works in a loudspeaker shop. they use a fine screen for one of there waterproof applications. It looks like a fine window screen but it is waterproof. thats what i used on mine to keep debris and water out. not sure if its sold to the public but if anyone is interested i could find out. I actually have a little left over if anyone wants to try it out.

I need a piece about 12" x 12". I don't want to stretch it but if possible 1 piece 16" x 16" would be better. Any one of the two will do. OR any size that he has to cut that is bigger. I will be glad to pay for it and the shipping. If you can get either size PM me and I will send you a Postal check that you can cash right at the Post Office.

The best I can come up with right now is a 17x8 piece that is a little dented up. I am 80% sure I can get a bigger piece from my buddys work. Do you just want me to send you what I have or wait to see what I can get?

yet another "swiss cheese" mod

I know this thread is about two months old but there werent any pictures for the screens. I dont have the screen that JIGA20001 mentioned, instead I used regular stainless steel screens painted black and glued to the outside of the air box with abs epoxy. Two layers of screen were used with the second layer slightly diagonal over the first (pictures show the first layer only)

The cutouts were also bigger as opposed to regular round holes. Heat soaking is generally not an issue. An K&N drop in filter was used in place of the original paper filter
