So how does NAV know where you are as you travel your route? It isnt using the phone GPS. Is it just using your turns and distance traveled to attempt to figure out where you are on the route?

As I start my trip the system gets my destination then using the phone it downloads a route, then hangs up the call.

Things are working for a mile or 2, then it thinks that I am off my route, and asks me to download an updated route. If I do this itll work again for a short while, then another prompt to update the route.

Is this how NAV is supposed to work?
If so, I think Ill just keep using my phone GPS.

Thanks.

Mine only does that when I don't follow directions and go off route.

Even if you dont have Nav, you still have a GPS reciever that Sync uses to know where you are. I am currently driving a rental EX while mine is in the shop, it does NOT have Nav, but I can go into the MFT diagnostics screen and look at the GPS and shows me connected to 7 sats, and shows my locations, speed, etc........ the rental just doesn't have the onscreen Nav, but still uses GPS for Sync.......
