My Sync will sometimes not fully load up. It will go through the loading animations, but then go black/gray instead of showing the screens. I've tried unplugging the battery to try to reset it, checked to make sure I'm on the current Sync Build; all the "normal" checks. Has anyone seen, or had, this type of issue before? The dealership is being weird about it, since it's happening intermittently, they are having trouble recreating it.

The links are to YouTube where I uploaded videos of what was happening. Sync issue 1 Sync issue 2 Full start up and issues shown-3 min Sync Issue 3 AUX Mode Blue Screen

I am on Sync 3.4 Build 21194_PRODUCT. I checked yesterday and it said the software was up to date.

You are using an old SYNC version. The newest one is 23188. I would try to update it to 23188 and see if that helps. Also suggest using a flash drive and not OTA update.

So, I did try that already, after these videos were taken, and my system said there were no updates. Tried with Flash and OTA. I did finally get in touch with a different service center, their manager said they have not seen this exact issue, but similar error codes ended up needing a new battery and some of the modules flashed. I'm taking it to them later this week, hoping it is that simple of a fix.

I appreciate the idea!

As Dale mentioned, the latest version, which corrected several issues, is 23188. Do not rely on your vehicle's search for updates feature. Go to your Ford/Sync account and see if an update is shown as being available. Once you are on the current version, please report back with any results. Thanks.

It has gotten progressively worse. I haven't had any access to my Sync screen since Sunday, so I am unable to update it since I can't access any of the menus or features. I am taking it to a dealer tonight, so they can work on it tomorrow, once it gets figured out, I'll gladly update :)

Once you have the latest update loaded onto a USB, you just plug it into the vehicle. You don't need the screen for any prompts.

I had tried to do the USB, after the OTA said no updates, but every time it failed to load. Without the screen, I had no way of knowing what was happening. But, I got the Explorer back from the dealer this morning. Good news, it was just an updated that was needed. I don't feel so bad for failing when I tried to do it, the dealer had lots of issues with it too; they ended up having to flash my ACM a couple times since they couldn't get the update to go through either, actually ended up calling someone from Ford central IT to remote in and help push it through.
