Looking GREAT man!

Did you put tweeters in the kick panels as well as the front doors?

How are they hooked up.

Thanks.

Great photos....

Dude that looks awesome :D That is gonna pound! I almost bought that 2200 amp, but figured I couldn't fit it under the seat  Keep us posted on the progress!

hey about that altenator what size spacers did you use and where did you get them. Also the color you paint that amp rack was it the same as the interior color? I want to paint my box so it will match interior also lmk what exact color that is if you did that. looks great keep up the good work.

Yes, there are tweeters in the kick panels as well as the front doors. They are hooked up like this:
From the amp, there are wires for the left and right channels. Each channel splits, one of the splits goes to the crossover for the kickpanels, and the other goes to the crossover for the tweeters in the doors. This way, the amp sees a 2 ohm load (the components and the tweeter are wired in parallel), and they receive their full combined RMS rated power of 210 watts per channel.

They are 3/8" spacers, they are used for joining pipes together normally, I think. I found them at ACE hardware, but most hardware places should have them. Also needed longer bolts and new washers when I added the spacers.

The color of the amp rack is not the exact interior color, it is slightly darker. I got the paint from Home Depot. It's made by Painter's Touch and the color is "Dark Gray Gloss, 1986"

Making more progress, guys...

As it turned out, I had miscalculated the number of sheets of MDF that I would need. Originally I only bought two, but later found out that I needed three. So last night I picked up another sheet and cut out the front piece of the box. From that, I cut out the 3 11 1/8" holes for the subs and sanded them down. I also bought some poly-fil to make up for the volume that will be lost when I finish bracing the box, and cut out a lot of the braces I will use. Home Depot did not have tee nuts long enough for mounting the subs, so I had to order them from McMaster-Carr. (That is a great supply company for hardware, if anyone does not know about it - cheap and very fast shipping) So those should be here by Thursday, perhaps Wednesday. I also ordered the sheet of plexiglass that will be used in the false floor to show off the amps.

I'm still on track for having the box put together completely no later than Thursday, and have the system in (might not have the top of the false floor finished, but everything will still work) by Saturday night. I'll post some new pics later on today or tomorrow.

I'm bored at work today, so I started making wiring diagrams of my new system. So far I have the diagram for the power (alternator to amplifiers). Just something I whipped up... It uses dHTML, and has pics and specs on all of my equipment, so I think it's kind of cool. Although if anyone has an old browser (or Netscape - I am working on compatibility with that), it may not show the specs on the equipment like it should. You just move your mouse over a part of the image (including wires) and you will be shown specs on whatever you are pointing at.

The diagram showing amplifers to speakers is coming next.

I got the Tee nuts in the mail today, so now the front part of the box that holds the 3 12"s is mounted. I've put all of the screws into it (over 100!), filled their holes, and sanded it smooth. Also siliconed all the seams on the inside. I may get the back of the box done tomorrow, in which case I will begin painting! :D

Also, I finally found detailed specs for the subs this morning, and they can be placed into a sealed enclosure that is at most 2 cubic feet. Given that I am only giving them each about 615 watts (waaay under their 1000 RMS), I am going to stuff the box with some polyfil and up the volume to 1.75 cubic feet. That should help with the low notes.

I posted more pics, guys... Got the back panel on the box and almost all of the screws in. Sanding is going well, should be done and ready to paint by tomorrow!
