For 93 Sploders is there a possibility of changing the T case from auto to a manual shift???

yes with a manual t-case...Borg Warner 1354....

Where would you find one of them T Case and is there a thread on how to do this?

it really is very simple actually just did one on a buddies ranger this last friday.... you will have to get the 1350 manual t-case along with the front driveshaft. it really is just a bolt on procedure except the front drive shaft has splines unlike in the 1354 as it just bolts on. cost for us to do it was less than 10 bux becuase he had got the stuff for free, only had to buy 1 tube of rtv and some hand cleaner lol... just remember when you are getting your tcase and new front driveshaft that you get the new plate that goes into the floor board aswell to accomadate the shifter or extra shifter. gl

The 1354 is also a manual. It came in both electrical and manual shift.

what vehicle would i be able to segal that manual t case and drive shaft from?? and thats all i need besides the shifter and that? and i guess i would have to cut a hole into the floor seeing mine is a auto tranny

ok ok but he doesnt sound like he knows to much about swapping them out..... he goes to a bone yard and asks for a BW 1354 he's getting a automatic shift. and i've heard that the manual 1354 is very hard to come by.

you could take it outta just about anything ranger, explorer, or bronco II, and about the auto tranny gl mouting the shifter to the tranny you would have to fab something more than likely.

also you wouldnt have to cut anything there is a plate above the tranny that you take out via 4 or 5 screws. you must peel carpet back first to get to it

Its pretty easy to tell the electric from the manual. The lack of the shift motor gives the manual one away. Just mention ask for a manual-shift 1354. But you're right, they are a little difficult to find. Ive found and bought two from http://car-part.com (one as a backup t-case)

Thanks for the help and i will give this a go! Thanks again

yw man gl with ya project... be sure to take pics and keep us posted... i would like to see what you come up with to mount the shifter. :) gl again

It shouldn't be to hard to figure out the shift linkage , is there not a automatic sploder with a manual t case? or were the manual t case only on manual tranny's?

i think they were only availible in base model ex's....manual everything...locks,windows,hubs,(trans)? t-case....

Oh ok so there would be some fun trying to figure something out! maybe looking at a manual tranny would be a good place to start and see how they have it hooked up and maybe stealing parts off of it to use on mine maybe?!?!?!?

id personnaly go 1350 because of availability....im no sure wich one is stronger...

The 1354 is stronger -- there are more planet gears in its gearset.

The 1350 came in mostly lighter vehicles like the earlier small engined ranger and/or bronco2.
The 1354 on the other hand was mated to slightly heavier vehicles like the 4.0 powered Explorer.
